I have no idea who’s been visiting my blog and I want to know those who have been hanging around here to read what I’ve been writing. As if meron?
How do I force you out of hiding (if there are anyone hiding..)? Hmmm…
Please bear the crazy talk… I have considered my phone long dead since I have no idea where it is. I used to own a K750i which lasted for more than a year before the dark evil who lives in the shadows of Sucat road eated it (huh ano daw?). And now that I need help choosing a phone, which would be my partner in crime for the next millenium, I’m holding a pseudo-contest. Don’t believe me? That’s not my problem. I’m still holding this contest.
What you get:
$50 via paypal (I’ll add a few bucks for the deduction crap) or by agreed meetup (I’ll hand the money to you in dollars). No other options, I’m not going to money order it or deposit it in some bank or whatever. Hey $50 is not bad for extra cash for beer or for pigging out ah… The money will cometh out from my paycheck at the end of the week. (And I bet you’re asking how much is this bitch earning anyway? LOL  )
Rules:
- The phone has to be available here in Metro Manila, Philippines.
- Give me an approximate price and a contact (a person, company or place–mall or whatever–where I could buy the phone for the price range you gave me). It has to be brand new, with warranty and stuff. Please don’t refer places or people that sells second hand phones or GSM (galing sa magnanakaw) or those that I’d end up getting ripped off. Have mercy naman… Gusto ko brand new with warranties!
- You have to tell me why you think it fits my lifestyle.
- One person can only refer twice.
- If in the case of duplicates (i.e. someone else referred the phone already), I’m going to draw out the winner amongst those who referred the phone unit.
- If in the case that no one wins… I doubt that will happen because I really will be using a referral from someone but in the case that no one does get the money, all who joined are invited to drink with me, we’ll spend that $50 on booze! LOL
- The pseudo-contest ends by Saturday, November 3, 1 AM (my blog’s time). I will be buying the phone on that same day. I’ll announce who the winner is on November 3 or 4 and contact the winner by email. If the winner does not respond in 2 days, ewan ko sa inyo, I’m going to use that $50 (pang date with huney? hehehe).
What you must do:
Refer a mobile phone model/unit by making a comment in this post. Better yet, convince me that this phone is the phone for me (ay ang galing, with manghuhula factor ito). I’m not going to give out too many clues, that’s the fun part, I want to know why you think the phone is good for me and my lifestyle. Give me your full name, a valid email address, the phone model, the price range, a place to buy it (if you could refer a place/person) and the reason why you chose the model. example:
Name: Joyce Santos
Email: (hidden)
URL:
Message: SE K750i, 8500-9000 Pesos (Greenhills/SM Megamall), you’ve had this before diba miss mo na sya?!
Hints: You could refer to my Profile page to get a bit of who I am. The phones I have had in the past were basically Nokia and Sony Ericsson (whether I’d veer off those two brands are possible if I liked the features of the phone) and these are what I’ve owned before:
- a moss green Sony ericsson I-dunno-wtf-the-model-was (it was a two-liner screen)
- 1 white Nokia 3210, 1 black Nokia 3315, 1 transparent Nokia 6210, 1 dark blue Nokia 5110, 1 silver Nokia N70
- 1 white Sony Ericsson T610
- 1 Black Sony Ericsson K750i
- 1 silver Nokia 6210 (the one I’m using now)
I don’t know why the color is significant but my friend said I should include it so there.
I wanted Mr. xxx’s iPhone but it was just loaned and isn’t unlocked. I wanted a brand new thing.
My budget? You’d have to guess… just know that I’m uber kuripot (terribly thrifty)
You actually don’t have to know me to refer a good phone. I’m easily pleased with functionality, durability (I have a 1 year old techie kid) and style.
Main purpose of the contest is to de-lurk those who tend to read my shit here and at the same time give out $50 for fogging you out.
Why not just give the $50 to everyone? Are you crazy, I can’t afford giving out $50 to each creature who claims he’s always here. And at the same time, you help me choose what phone I need, that way I know who kinda shares my type when it comes to gadgetry, hey great minds think alike diba? (feeling great ako!
LOL)

I would recommend the Sony Ericsson W580i. It’s a new phone but that’s not why I’m recommending it. Firstly, it’s a brand you’ve used before so you don’t have to re-learn so many things to start using it. Second, it’s slick and stylish and fit for the modern women of today – which I think you are. It is power-packed for playing music, which I think you would like, especially while caring for your kid (you really need to know how to relax cos it can be very tiring). And to suit your picture-taking interest, the W580i has got a 2 mega-pixel camera with 4x zoom and the best feature that I like is that it allows for picture blogging. So you can be connected to your website/blog and share your pics with them straight away, not to mention that it allows RSS feeds as well.
It should cost around 7500-8000 Pesos and is available at Wellcom Telecom Supermarts.
They have several stores in Metro Manila. See link below:

Hope you get a great phone!

Whoa did you just say $50?! Well, let’s see, I heard that the Nokia E70 plays mp3s, video, has a full browser and Wi-Fi, IMAP and POP3 email, and Google Maps. Also, since you’re into web designing, you can run terminal software to telnet or SSH into remote servers. And I don’t even know what that means!
It costs around $350.

Thanks to all who suggested! ^_^ I’ll announce who won later, yeah it’s one of then up there. ↑ I also have to blackmail my alien (mr. Yum, huney, whatever) to buy it for me since I’m stuck in neck-high tasks (that’s what you deserve joiz for being a lazy ass for the past few days).

[...] I am swamped with work, which is great since I like my current clients and I enjoy what I ‘m doing and I’m also busy putting back my dead portfolio. But as promised (and I apologize for the delay), I will announce who won the measly $50 from my Refer a Phone mini-contest. [...]

You know? You cheated! It passed almost 1 year and you still didn’t announce the winner. I was one of those reading this post in the period (because I was looking for a phone myself). Remembering about it today, randomly, came back to see the winner…and I’m met with disappointment… NO winner posted!

Au contraire mon ami, or whoever you are. I didn’t cheat. If you looked closely on the trackbacks, for this post, there’s a post dedicated solely to the phone I bought and the winner of the prize. And if that still doesn’t convince you that I didn’t cheat, maybe you could ask the winner himself. He’s Steel and got a blog at http://ballsofsteel.i.ph.
